  SAN FRANCISCO, August 24. 2001 - isurvive.org, http://www.isurvive.org/, announced today that it has secured full 501(c)(3) tax-exempt incorporated non-profit organizational status from the California Franchise Tax Board.

isurvive.org is an online discussion community center for abuse survivors. The organization provides participants with an anonymous, worldwide community of individuals who share a similar past and present, hosted within a professionally developed, volunteer-driven web environment.

isurvive.org is designed to be quickly and easily accessible. It features multiple threaded bulletin-board discussion groups, catering to survivors of childhood sexual abuse, incest, rape and domestic violence, and featuring survivor's stories and special interest forums for friends and family of abuse survivors. Each bulletin board is hosted by a trained moderator guiding discussion. The site also features a chat room for visitors and community members to engage in real time conversation. In addition, isurvive.org provides a robust library of local, regional, national and online resources for abuse survivors.

isurvive.org is a grassroots volunteer-driven non-profit organization. The founding team is composed of approximately 25 volunteers in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City and Los Angeles. Most founding team members are also professionals in the fields of software engineering and web development, graphic design, information technology, project management and non-profit organizational development.
